The SYTT have just announced that they will be relocating the entire collection of vehicles to Bays 3 and 4 of the Tinsley Tram Sheds, Sheffield.

For the 388 Group, this is rather ironic, as 388 left the tram sheds, under the Sheffield Bus Museum banner, at the end of March 2007.

However this move back to the tramsheds is viewed in a very different light, as the Tram Shed building is having repairs done to the roof to stop any leaks, and the floors are being cleaned as I write this piece.

There are 3 inspection pits located in bay 4, which are also currently being cleaned and painted, and new lighting installed. This is a distinct advantage over the Kimberworth premises.

This unexpected move has been fuelled by an unacceptable level of vandalism on the buses parked outside at the SYTT premises, together with fuel theft on the same. Also, there had been an attempted arson attack on one of the buses parked outside, thankfully to no avail.

The 388 Group are fully supportive of this move, and are looking forward to a very positive future at what is for us our 'old home'.

Any move which safe guards the future of the vehicle collection at the SYTT has to be good news, and having all the collection under cover, with still more space to spare, really is a very good move, and has to be highly commended!
